Front End Developer

The Front End Developer is part of the production team at LeadPoint Digital. The Front End Developer will build and maintain client websites on a modern WordPress development stack, translating designs from Figma into polished, responsive sites

This role is ideal for anyone from recent graduates to those with 3-5 years of development experience that has a keen eye for details. You’ll work alongside other developers, a designer, a marketing specialist, and a project manager. This role reports to the Director of Technology.

Full-Time Position – Roanoke, Virginia

RESPONSIBILITIES

Development & Maintenance

  • Build responsive WordPress websites from Figma designs using our modern development framework.
  • Develop custom blocks, templates, and page layouts within WordPress.
  • Maintain and improve existing client websites, handling ongoing tasks and feature requests.
  • Ensure websites meet standards for security, performance, accessibility, and SEO.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Communicate progress on projects to the team and flag blockers early.
  • Contribute to improving internal development processes and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to support client goals through website improvements.

Team Synergy

  • Communicate progress and status of tasks with the Account Managers.
  • Perform other tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate and consult with Digital Marketing Specialists, Writers, Designers, and Developers.
  • Continuously evolve knowledge of online user behavior, digital marketing, and client industries.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience building websites on WordPress.
  • Comfortable working with Git for version control.
  • Ability to take a Figma design and build it into a functional, responsive website.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and process-driven.
  • Clear communicator and collaborative team member.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of WordPress development experience.
  • Familiarity with PHP in a WordPress context (theme development, template logic, plugin customization).
  • Awareness of SEO best practices and web accessibility standards.
  • Experience with Shopify.
  • Experience with WordPress plugin development.
